Upper Himalayan Outreach

Hello Friends,
I greet you in Jesus' name from Nepal. Yesterday (6th Nov) I arrived home from upper Himalaya where I was doing a one week outreach. I got to meet some of our co-workers and heard many life-changing testimonies, stories, and challenges from them. We had hired a 4 wheel Jeep so we could carry Bibles and we drove for 7 hours up to the mountains from Dhading Bensi city.

I was excited to hear how God is multiplying our ministry all over Nepal. Our MFTN Himalayan Co-ordinator reported that we now have over 6,000 believers living on the slopes of mountains & he is mobilizing those believers to reach other unreached villages.

Pastor Ruben with his Outreach Team at Upper Himalaya

This land was donated by Pastor Gurung to build a Community Center (MFTN Upper Himalayan Center).

80 people receiving Bibles in the Upper Dhading district

There are 4 churches on this mountain slope and the only people to have a Bible in each church were the Pastors. Everyone was so grateful for their gifts of Bibles.

This is Ganga Tamang

Ganga walked for 3 hours up mountains with her 8-month-old son on her back to receive her Bible.

This is Dhanmaya Tamang

Dhanmaya is 68 years old. She was born and raised in a very strong Buddhist family & had never heard about Jesus before.

This is Dilkumari Tamang

Dilkumari received a Bible for the first time in her life after 19 years of believing in Christ. When Dilkumari first believed, she was kicked out of her home by her son & daughter in law for her Faith but today all her family and relatives are in Christ.

This is Maina Tamang

Maina cannot read and write but she said she has a grandson who can read for her, so we provided her with a Bible. She also walked for 3 hours to come to this Bible distribution.

Pastor Ruben in meeting with MFTN co-workers

Pastor Ruben is holding a meeting with MFTN co-workers whose ministries are in Upper Himalaya and Tibet. Pastor Lek reported that we have over 6,000 believers in slopes of mountains and that 2,000 believers don't have Bibles in their homes.

This is Kumar Chepang

Kumar once tried to buy a Bible from Kathmandu, and it was going to cost him almost $16, including his Bus Fare to Kathmandu & food, so he had to forget about buying a Bible himself. Today he and his wife received a Bible each. "Every morning and evening, we will do Bible Study for an hour" said Kumar.

This is Aaita Chepang

Aaita is a farmer. He accepted Christ 4 years ago. He only had a New Testament and some Christian gospel tracts in his home, but today he received 2 Bibles for his family. He said he never thought God would bless him in this way.

Pastor Ruben also spent some hours training these Chepang believers on how to read and understand the Bible.

30 people received Bibles for the first time in their lives

They live in the Rainforest of Upper Chitwan.
