We will not let any daughter be deceived and be sold like an animal

We fight to save souls

Every year, about 30,000 girls age 12 – 18 are domestically and internationally forced into sex industries by the criminal network. Nepal is a transit country because of its open border with India and on arrival visas are given to any nationality.

Traffickers go to  mountain villages and deceive parents by promising a better future for their daughters or they will kidnap the young girls.

The girls are taken to Kathmandu or another major city within the country. They are abused, group raped, and their lives are threatened if they are non-compliant.  The girls and traded from one brothel to another.

Traders will also find international customers and will sell a girl for $1,000 – $2,000, and these girls will unwillingly have to cross the border when sold.

Border Patrolling & Surveillance

Priya, our staff member, does Border Patrol and Surveillance. Every day, she checks over 100 vehicles. Priya says it's dangerous work, but she feels it is very worthwhile, especially when she sees the girls she rescued expressing tears of gratitude and relief as they realize how close they were to being trafficked.

Awareness
Team

In 2020, our 'Rescue Everyday' team reached over 100 villages and over 19,000 people, raising awareness on the Sex Trafficking trade. Now, these villagers recognize brokers as they enter their community, and they can fight against them to protect their daughters. Our goal for the year 2021 is to raise awareness of over 20,000 people in Nepal's "at high risk" villages.

Started
Own Business

We rescue girls from trafficking and give them safe homes where they learn skills and receive care. After they have learned skills, MfTN thens supports the girls to begin their shop or other micro business. This enables the girls, through time, to stand on their own two feet. Sabita is one of many young women who has started her own Business.
