Pastor Ruben Basnet is a dynamic Christian leader in Nepal—a visionary, passionately committed to advancing God’s Kingdom through networks, partnerships, and ministries across the nation.

His journey of faith began at the age of three, when God miraculously healed him from witchcraft. That miracle led his entire family to follow Christ, even though they knew almost nothing about Him at the time.

In 1993, his father, Rev. Rajendra, planted Smyrna Church. Ruben grew up in Sunday school, later serving in youth ministry. In 2006, he attended Bible School in India, and in 2008, he received God’s call to full-time mission work. The Lord gave him the vision for Mission for Tribes and Nations, which today is a registered non-profit organization in Texas (USA), India, and Nepal.

Pastor Ruben has carried the gospel to the nations—traveling to the USA, Brazil, the UK, Switzerland, France, Hungary, and several African and South Asian countries—sharing his testimony and ministering as a conference speaker. Twice a year, he also leads Holy Land tours to Israel, taking Nepali Christians and church leaders to walk where Jesus walked.

For twelve long years, Pastor Ruben and his wife prayed for children. In 2018, God answered—blessing them with their first daughter, Rachel, followed by Miracle and their son, Samuel.

In 2021, during the COVID-19 lockdown, they moved to Kathmandu with a vision to plant a city megachurch. Since then, they have planted four churches in Kathmandu that will soon merge into one thriving congregation
