Innovative Academy & Orphanage
In 2017, Pastor Ruben founded an uplifting school called Innovative Academy. The school provides free classes to over 400 children!The Historical Religious Cause of Poverty: Nepal and India are both beautiful countries built on ancient civilizations. Historically, the Hindu religion teaches that there are different castes of people who are seen as being more or less valuable. For centuries, certain village people were labeled as being “untouchable.”
These tribes were consigned to menial labor jobs and given no educational opportunities. This historical practice created extreme inequalities and poverty in certain village districts. The most tragic example is a group of people called the “Rat Catchers,” because they are so poor that they resort to eating rats. The children living in these communities are far behind the rest of the country. Our goal is to improve the lives of these suffering souls. In 2017, Pastor Ruben founded a school called Innovative Academy. The school is located in the center of seven Rat Catcher villages and provides free education to over 400 children.
Innovative Academy is located in the Sarlahi district of eastern Nepal, which is known for having several large brick factories. Unfortunately, some of the families are so poor that they send their children to work in the brick factories. Innovate Academy was established to provide a free education to children who otherwise would not have the opportunity. Our mission is to lift these precious kids out of poverty and to break the cycle of child labor.
